Applied grammar for teachers of English

The applied grammar course comprises three 3-hour sessions. It assumes a reasonable familiarity with the topics and terminology covered in the essential grammar course.

There is no set syllabus: you are asked which grammar points you find problematic from an analysis and/or teaching perspective, and we then cover as many of these as feasible during the three sessions.

The emphasis is very much on finding practical teaching solutions for use in the classroom, while also going into the necessary depth of analysis that underpins the language items themselves
